Lieutenant Colonel of the National Army, Beismarck Salamanca Nempeque has been on remand in custody without benefit of release, as alleged responsible for the offense of aggravated homicide, according to a decision taken by a Prosecutor assigned to the National Unit of Human Rights and IHL.

Facts, matter of investigation, happened on October 12, 2004 in Piedras Blancas village, municipality of Saint Helena (Antioquia), where troops attached to the Special Urban Forces Group “Afeur” in an alleged case of a fighting, killed a man and a woman unidentified who carried a revolver and a pistol not fit for firing according to ballistics experts.

Salamanca Nempeque, Captain at that time, bears also a preventive detention order for the death of the civilian, Luis Bernardo Alvarez Correa, which happened on June 4, 2005 in the area Alto de Las Cruces, jurisdiction of the municipality of Caldas (Antioquia).

The Official is imprisoned in the Military Police Battalion No. 13 in Puente Aranda, Bogotá.
