The Second Deputy Judge of Bucaramanga (Santander) has sentenced to 32 years of imprisonment and a fine of 300 statutory minimum salaries to former Congresswoman Yiddish Medina Padilla, who was found responsible for aggravated kidnapping for ransom.
The Facts which led to this judgment, happened in Barrancabermeja (Santander), where on October 30, 2002, were kidnapped Juan Carlos Carvajal Torres and Ricardo Sequeda Cristancho, former officials of that municipality.
The investigation carried out by a public prosecutor assigned to the National Unit against Kidnapping and Extortion started from the complaint filed by one of the victims, Mr. Carvajal Torres
The judge did not grant Padilla Medina any benefit.
