Two former members of self-defenses have been sentenced by the Second Special Penal Circuit Judge in Antioquia department  in a plea bargaining hearing in order to serve twenty years of imprisonment  each , as responsible for offenses of aggravated homicide, aggravated forced displacement and aggravated criminal association.

The defendant are: Néstor Abad, alias El Indio and Rolando de Jesús Lopera Muñoz, alias Cinco Uno, who during the accusation hearing  were agreed to accept the charges before a Human Rights and IHL prosecutor.

Investigation based on the facts happened between August 31st and September 1st, 1999, when approximately 250 members of self-defenses attacked a country area of Yolombó, Antioquia, murder 21 indivuals, who were pointed out as ELN guerrilla group helpers.

Additionally, this armed attack caused a  civil individuals displacement.
