At the request of a prosecutor appointed to the branch office in San Andrés Island (Seccional San Andrés Isla), a judge imposed a preventive detention measure in a specialized care center on a teenager who is allegedly involved in the murder of a person in that city.
The decision is related to events that occurred on January 23 in El Cliff neighborhood of the island. There, the 16-year-old youth allegedly arrived and repeatedly shot at a 23-year-old man.
The victim died while being transported to a medical center due to the severity of his injuries. Investigations allowed authorities to identify the alleged aggressor, who was arrested by the National Police on January 25 in compliance with a judicial order.
During the preliminary hearings, the teenager did not accept his responsibility for charges of homicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition that were brought by the Office of the Attorney General.
