At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge ordered a prison sentence for Laura Inés Arroyave Rincón, an alleged member of the criminal group La Terraza, that would be involved in drug trafficking activities.
According to judicial police operations led by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), between January 2019 and October 2022, this organization allegedly sent synthetic drugs to the United States, Europe, Central America, and South America.
The evidence indicates that it recruited men and women from various municipalities in Antioquia and persuaded them to travel to different destinations while concealing the illicit substances in their luggage or on their bodies.
Investigators found that Arroyave Rincón was allegedly responsible for recruiting young people to transport the drugs. She is also believed to have traveled to Argentina with hallucinogenic substances for transnational distribution.
A prosecutor from the Support Structure (Estructura de Apoyo EDA in spanish) charged her with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime for drug trafficking purposes. The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges.
For the same facts, 30 members of this criminal organization have been convicted through preliminary agreements. Among those sentenced are three former police officers.
