At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Julio Néstor Serna Ramírez and his nephew Yeison Ferney Olarte Serna, for the murder of a woman belonging to the LGBTQ+ community which took place in Comuna 8 in Medellín (Antioquia).
The incident ocurred on July 26 of this year in Llanaditas neighborhood, where the defendants allegedly entered the victim’s house and stabbed her 42 times in her head and shoulders. The woman also had wounds in her hands since she tried to protect herself.
The Office of the Attorney General established that the crime was committed due to ongoing conflicts between the victim and the alleged perpetrators, due to intolerance in the neighborhood. The woman was found dead in her home three days after the incident.
The defendants were arrested by the National Police and during the hearings, they did not plead guilty to aggravated homicide.
