The Attorney General’s Office brought Jhon Fredy Salazar Velasco before a judge. He was allegedly found in a vehicle while driving in El Túnel neighborhood, in the area of Cajibío (Cauca) in possession of a firearm, clothing exclusively for the Public Forces, among other items.
He was arrested in flagrante on September 14 by officers from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), with support from National Army, while traveling in a vehicle with other individuals who fled the scene.
When they inspected the vehicle where Salazar Velasco was, they found a bag with Cable zip ties to tie people, a pistol, a magazine with eight cartridges, a taser gun, a box containing a tactical flashlight used by the Army, and civilian clothing.
Therefore, a prosecutor from the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI) charged him with manufacturing, trafficking, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. During the hearings, the arrested man did not plead guilty to the charges and must serve a sentence in prison.
