At the request of a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Bolívar (Seccional Bolivar), a judge issued a prison sentence against Cristian David Bustos Morales, allegedly responsible for the crime of extortion. 

The facts under investigation are related to extortions made by phone to a 17-year-old student in Cartagena. On August 31, the victim was asked to pay 300,000 pesos in exchange for not murdering him and his family. 

Due to comission of the offense, officcers of Gaula – National Police  conducted an operation in which they arrested Bustos Morales on September 2nd in Los Calamares neighborhood in Cartagena when he was receiving the agreed-upon sum. During the operation, the money and three gold bracelets belonging to the teenager were seized. 

The defendant, 18, did not plead guilty for the charges brought against him.
