The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted 14 individuals for being allegedly responsible for storing and selling cocaine and marijuana in small doses in Chinácota (Norte de Santander).
A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Norte de Santander (Seccional Norte de Santander) charged them with aggravated drug trafficking, manufacturing, or possession. None of the defendants pleaded guilty.
During 11 search warrants conducted by the Technical Investigation Corps (Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación CTI), in conjunction with the National Police and Army, in neighborhoods such as El Trébol, Carmen, 4 de Julio, and San Mateo, the defendants were arrested.
A judge sent five of the defendants to prison while four must serve house arrest. The other defendants were released but remain linked to the case.
