Based on evidence provided by the Attorney General’s Office, a judge in Bucaramanga (Santander) sentenced Víctor Alfonso Martínez Parra and Cristóbal Andrés Zabala Ortega to 9 years and 4 months in prison for attempted murder and qualified theft, both aggravated offenses.
The events occurred on May 26 at a commercial establishment in Nuevo Sotomayor neighborhood, where the convicted individuals arrived to rob customers. At the scene, they were confronted by a man who was repeatedly wounded with a sharp weapon. Then, they took a briefcase, a computer, and personal belongings. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was saved.
Martínez Parra and Zabala Ortega fled the scene on a motorcycle and were arrested by the National Police.
