The Attorney General’s Office charged Jhonatan Javier Durango López, known as ‘Monito’’, with aggravated homicide and manufacture, trafficking, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.
The investigation, led by a prosecutor appointed to an URI, established that on August 7, 2024, on a public road in 24 de Mayo neighborhood in Cereté (Córdoba), Durango López allegedly shot a merchant from a motorcycle and then fled. The victim was taken to a medical center but arrived without vital signs.
The investigations, including witness interviews, established that ‘El Monito’ was allegedly involved in the contract killing.
The defendant is currently in prison for the commission of other crimes in which he is allegedly involved, including three other homicides in this municipality.
In preliminary hearings, Durango López did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office.
