After approving the arguments of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against brothers Wilmer Albeiro and Nelson Enrique Díaz, alleged perpetrators of arms trafficking in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander). 

In preliminary hearings, a prosecutor charged them with manufacturing, trafficking,or possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges. 

According to the investigations conducted by the Attorney General’s Office, the defendants allegedly engaged in the storage of firearms, which were sold and distributed in different areas of the city. 

The defendants were arrested in fragrante on July 26 by National Police officers during a search warrant operation at their residence in Gaitán neighborhood. 

During the judicial proceedings, two pistols, two revolvers, 9mm and 38mm caliber cartridges, as well as firearm parts and accessories were seized.
