After a preliminary plea agreement with the Attorney General’s Office, a 37-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years and 7 months in prison for the crimes of aggravated femicide with attempt and attempted homicide.|

The facts took place on October 31, 2024, in El Rocío neighborhood in Bucaramanga. The defendant apparently arrived at the scene to attack his former sentimental partner and the man she was spending time with.

The victims were repeatedly wounded with a sharp weapon and then were taken to a hospital for treatment. The convicted man was detained by the community when he tried to flee the scene, and was later arrested by National Police officers.

The conclusive evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office led the sentenced man to plead guilty to the charges that were brought against him.
