The suspect allegedly fled the country to evade authorities.

The Attorney General’s Office brought Wilfran Rodríguez Franco before a judge for his alleged responsibility in a robbery at a home in Venadillo area in Ocaña (Norte de Santander).

According to the investigation, the incident took place on January 19, 2023, when the defendant and two other individuals, allegedly broke into a house and identified themselves as members of a criminal group, to steal a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was intended to be taken to Cúcuta for its sale; however, the men were involved in a traffic accident and fled, leaving the motorcycle in the place.

The defendant was arrested by National Police officers upon arrival at the airport in Cúcuta from the Dominican Republic, where he allegedly fled to evade authorities.

Rodríguez Franco was charged with qualified and aggravated theft. The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges, and the judge ordered a prison sentence.
