The investigations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the identification and prosecution of Martín Emilio Graciano Sandoval, the alleged person responsible for attacking women athletes with stones and attempting to cause their deaths in El Picacho sector, in Tuluá (Valle del Cauca).
The evidence indicates that the 26-year-old man generally wore a camouflage jacket, had a bag and was riding a motorcycle in the area where the attacks took place. Apparently, he hid behind the trees and when he detected that a victim was approaching, he hit her with stones.

Some of the women suffered severe head trauma with loss of consciousness; and others were injured in the extremities and back. All of them had physical side-effects as a result of the attacks.
Therefore, a prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Valle del Cauca charged Graciano Sandoval with attempted femicide, and requested a prison sentence against him. The request was approved by the judge who led the concentrated hearings.
