José Leonardo Quevedo Turizo is accused of choosing men and murdering them to steal their belongings. So far, four victims are attributed to him.
New evidence obtained by the Attorney General’s Office shows that José Leonardo Quevedo Turizo would be responsible for the crime of an actor and member of the LGBTIQ+ community, on May 6, 2023, in Teusaquillo, downtown Bogotá.
The aggressor, a citizen from Venezuela, allegedly contacted and convinced a victim to go to his place of residence. In the property, he apparently covered the victim’s mouth and nose, and suffocated her. He then took a cell phone, a laptop and a speaker, among other valuable items, and escaped from the scene.
For these incidents, a prosecutor appointed to the Dirección de Apoyo Territorial (Territorial Support Directorate) charged him with homicide and qualified theft, both aggravated. He did not plead guilty to charges.
Quevedo Turizo was arrested and prosecuted on May 16, 2023, for these criminal acts, in which he also allegedly murdered three LGBTIQ+ people and robbed their belongings. Since then, he is deprived of his liberty in prison.
