After approving the preliminary agreement signed between the Attorney General’s Office and Willinton Baena Puerta, alias Niño Ronda, a judge in Cartagena sentenced him to 12 years and 2 months in prison.

A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Bolívar (Seccional Bolivar)  demonstrated that this former leader of Los Ronda criminal group is responsible for the crimes of homicide, conspiracy to commit crimes; trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics; all aggravated; manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and illicit use of personal property and real state.

According to the investigation, Baena Puerta coordinated illegal activities from prison, where he was since 2019, such as selective homicides, distribution of narcotic substances in sites and trafficking of firearms for the commission of criminal acts in Cartagena (Bolívar) and surrounding towns.

Among the homicides that are attributed to him is the one that occurred on March 15, 2019, when unknown people with a firearm took the life of a 24-year-old man in the 13 de Junio ​​neighborhood in Bolívar.

A fine of 2,234 current legal monthly minimum wages was imposed.
