In one of the cases, the illegal substance was concealed in the body of a vehicle.

The Attorney General’s Office brought two men before the judges of Toro and Buga (Valle del Cauca), who were allegedly found in possession of different quantities of cocaine in a public road.

  • This is about Marlon Yamid Daza Cifuentes, who was charged by the Prosecutor’s Office with manufacturing, trafficking or aggravated possession of narcotics since he was allegedly found in possession of 32 packages containing 32,500 grams of cocaine. The substance was camouflaged in the body of a van in which the defendant was traveling from the municipality of Mediacanoa to La Virginia, area of Toro. The narcotic and the vehicle were seized and Daza Cifuentes was arrested by the National Police.
  • In a second case, Edebray Esteban Cárdenas Artunduaga, 19 years old, was prosecuted for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking or possession of narcotics. The defendant apparently was found in possession of 150 plastic bags with cocaine and its derivatives. He was arrested in San José Obrero neighborhood in Buga. His suspicious behavior alerted the authorities, who took actions and seized the illicit substance.

The judges accepted the requests made by the Attorney General’s Office and sent the defendants to prison. None pleaded guilty to the charges.
