The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office allowed a judge to impose a prison sentence against José Leonel García who is accused of transporting large quantities of narcotics on Putumayo roads.

A prosecutor appointed to the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI) charged him with trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. Garcia did not plead guilty to the charges.

This person was arrested in fragrante by National Police and Army in a police checkpoint located in San Juan de Villalobos sector, road from Pitalito (Huila) to Mocoa (Putumayo), while he was traveling in a public transport van in alleged possession of 40 packages containing 40 kilos of marijuana.

Apparently, the narcotic was going to be delivered, rationed and sold in the center and south area of Valle del Guamuez (Putumayo).
