At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Carlos Alberto Méndez, for his alleged responsibility in shooting a 16-year-old boy during an argument, in Ibagué (Tolima). The facts took place on September 15, 2024 in La Cartagena neighborhood.
A prosecutor appointed to the so-called Unidad de Vida charged him with aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking and possession of firearms. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
The facts took place when the victim was sharing with five teenagers in the area. Suddenly, an exchange of insults began between the perpetrator and another young man.
The alleged aggressor fired indiscriminately at the group, an action that caused the death of the young man.
