A Court of the Federal District of Puerto Rico (United States) stated that he would have taken advantage of the rank of patrolman and the functions he performed in Atlántico to facilitate the exit of cocaine in sports sailboats and other vessels.

The Attorney General’s Office, through the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking, and in coordinated with DIJIN of the National Police and the US agency DEA, managed to locate and arrest Jhonathan David Ustaris Cantillo, alias La Mona for extradition purposes.

The procedure was carried out in Soledad (Atlántico), by virtue of a request made by the Court of the Federal District of Puerto Rico (United States), which wants him for charges related to drug trafficking.

According to the international request, alias La Mona, allegedly collaborated with the criminal structure ‘Los Costeños’ and facilitated the exit of cocaine hydrochloride to international destinations while he served as a patrolman of the National Police and performed different functions.

For this illegal purpose, he apparently contacted the captains of sports sailboats and other vessels to transport the camouflaged narcotics to the United States, countries in the Caribbean and Europe.

The arrested man will be placed under the authority of the Attorney General’s Office while the administrative and diplomatic procedures for his extradition are completed.
