At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on seven alleged members of a criminal group known as Los Coole, involved in robbery of vehicles and motorcycles in Popayán (Cauca).
The people involved are: Cristian David Ordóñez Gamboa, alias El Culón; Lino Esneider Males Escobar, alias Lino; Xiomi del Pilar Becerra Cerón, Yeison Steven Trujillo Sánchez, Gerson Eduardo Campo Ruíz, alias Blanquito; Anderson Yamith Rincón Guaitarilla and Owen Santiago Díaz Sandoval, who were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and qualified theft, both aggravated. They did not plead guilty.
According to the investigation, these people were allegedly involved, in at least 10 cases of robberies of high-end vehicles and motorcycles that took place between May 2023 and August 2024. The robberies would amount to more than 164 million COP.
The evidence shows that ‘Los Coole’ allegedly used tools to open the doors and start the vehicles. After robbing the vehicles, they asked the owners for money to return the cars.
These people were arrested by the Technical Investigative Corps, with the support of the National Police and Army, in several sectors of Popayán and Cali (Valle del Cauca).
