Three alleged members of this criminal organization were prosecuted since they apparently committed crimes in the central and residential area of ​​the capital.

The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office was accepted by the judge to impose a prison sentence against three alleged members of Las Pirañas criminal organization, accused of committing thefts in different sectors of Neiva (Huila).

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with manufacture, trafficking or possession of a firearm and qualified theft, both aggravated behaviors. None pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General.

The National Police arrested Juan Esteban Díaz Barrera, Santiago Cueva Alba and Juan Esteban Medina Rodríguez, in Canaima Sur neighborhood in Neiva.

In the investigation carried out by a prosecutor appointed to the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI), the alleged thieves would be linked to facts that occurred on November 14, in Timanco neighborhood, in the south area of Neiva. The victim was approached by the defendants, who allegedly stole his work tools such as a tablet, a cell phone, a wallet and two bags, valued at approximately 1,500,000 COP.
