One of those prosecuted allegedly recruited a teenager to carry out criminal activities in Meta.
The Attorney General’s Office obtained evidence that shows the recruitment of a teenager in the east area of the country by a structure known as ‘Segunda Marquetalia’ of FARC dissidents.
Three alleged members of this organization were identified and brought before a judge. The people involved are Diego Fernando Camayo Díaz, alias El Indio; Heyller Alejandro Castañeda Murcia and Fabial Steven Palacios. A prosecutor from the Directorate Specialized in the fight against Criminal Organizations charged them, according to their alleged responsibility, with aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, illegal recruitment; and manufacture, trafficking, and possession of firearms and ammunition for personal use.
The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges. One of them, alias El Indio, must serve a prison sentence, while the others will remain linked to the investigation.
These three people were arrested in Puerto Rico (Meta). National Police intercepted them while they were riding on two motorcycles. During the procedure, they found two 9-millimeter caliber pistols and three cell phones, and confirmed that they were transporting the minor who had been recruited.
The young man confirmed that he was contacted two weeks ago by alias El Indio, and was forced to join the illegal armed group and to carry out illegal actions against the population and the public force in the region.
