The work led by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the prosecution of five alleged members of a criminal network known as Atenas, identified as responsible for local drug trafficking in Apia (Risaralda).
The people involved are Diego Fernando Arias Venegas, alias Manguero; Alcides de Jesús Granda Zapata, alias Alcides; Luis Fernando Alzate Giraldo, Claudia Patricia Úsuga, and Natalia Valentina Taborda Pérez.
According to the investigation, since 2023 the defendants were in charge of distributing and selling marijuana, cocaine and 2C-B in schools, parks and the rural area of the municipality. For this illegal activity, they allegedly used mobile and fixed points of sale.
A judge imposed a prison sentence on four of the defendants. Taborda Pérez, must serve house arrest.
