At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, judges imposed prison sentences on six alleged members of the FARC dissidents who allegedly participated in the kidnapping of a cattle breeder on May 6 in the rural area of ​​Cravo Norte, San Rafael village (Arauca).

The people involved are Vladimir Hurtado Vente, Daniel Vente Micolta, Deibin Johan Olaya Goyeneche, Jhonny Alexander Bermúdez Melo, Nieve Vente Micolta and Javier Raúl Vargas Cisneros, who were charged with kidnapping for ransom and conspiracy to commit a crime, both in aggravated circumstances.

According to the investigation, armed men arrived at the cattle breeder’s farm, and after taking him against his will, they forced him to get into a vehicle which drove to an unknown direction. To date, the victim’s whereabouts are unknown.

The defendants were arrested in a joint operation between investigators from the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI); the National Police, Gaula of Army and the Navy. The actions were carried out by the public force in El Charco (Nariño), Cali (Valle del Cauca), Bogotá (Cundinamarca) and Tame (Arauca).

The alleged suspects did not plead guilty to the charges brought against them.
