The man was also found responsible for the murder of his mother-in-law.

The Attorney General’s Office achieved a sentence of 35 years and 10 months in prison for a man responsible for the murder of his sentimental partner and his mother-in-law. The facts took place on March 26 in Dosquebradas (Risaralda).

The investigation led by a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Risaralda established that the 33-year-old man arrived at the victim’s house, with whom he had an argument due to jealousy. The attacker was charged with femicide and homicide (both aggravated).

Judicial police work showed that the woman’s death was caused by a mechanical suffocation. The victim’s mother interceded on her daughter’s behalf but was also attacked by the convicted man who caused her death in the same way.

The next day the convicted man fled the scene and two days later the women’s corpses were found in their beds covered with blankets.
