At the request of a specialized prosecutor appointed to Gaula of Cartagena, a judge imposed a prison sentence against two alleged members of the Nicolás Antonio Urango Reyes substructure, at the service of the Clan del Golfo who allegedly committed crimes in municipalities located in the northern area of Bolívar.
The judicial decision involves Juan Carlos Valdés Casiani, alias El Juancho, 23; and Tebinson Rodríguez Pomares, alias Chopa, 39; who were charged with kidnapping for ransom, criminal conspiracy, aggravated theft and extortion. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
The defendants are allegedly involved in robberies of farm owners and residents of Mahates, María La Baja, Arjona, San Juan, Palenque and Arroyo Hondo (Bolívar). Several of the victims were allegedly held prisoners and their families were subjected to extortion in exchange for their release.
The suspects were arrested by the Gaula of the National Police on September 29 in Malagana and Palenque (Bolívar).
