At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed preventive detention measures on three women and four men who were allegedly part of the criminal group ‘Los Juanitos’ that were involved in extorting merchants in Ariari region, south area of Meta.
The people involved are Yelin González Restrepo, alias Bella; Marby Viviana Sanabria Rico, alias Marcela; William Harvey Ortiz Ramos, alias El cantante; Juan Manuel Andrade Pérez, alias Cofla; Ángel Mauricio Grajales Godoy, alias Siete; Wilmer Alexander Hernández and Sandra Milena Quiñonez Quiñonez, alias Simpson, who were charged with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, extortion, threats and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
The defendants were allegedly threatening people since 2022. They allegedly made threatening calls and pamphlets to intimidate the victims to deposit the money in bank correspondent banks.
In four search warrants carried out by the National Police in Granada, San Martín, Vistahermosa and San Juan de Arama (Meta), the suspects were arrested. They allegedly played certain roles within the criminal network.
At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on six of the arrested people. Sandra Milena Quiñonez must serve house arrest due to her status as nursing mother.
