At the request of a prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Santander, a judge issued a prison sentence against Henry Eduardo Tarazona Rojas, alias Patula, alleged member of Los de La Paz, a criminal gang involved in the theft of motorcycles in Bucaramanga and its Metropolitan Area.

The Office of the Attorney General charged the defendant with conspiracy to commit crimes for extortion purposes and qualified and aggravated theft. During the investigation it was established that, apparently, this gang committed crimes between March 2023 and February 2024 obtaining illegal incomes exceeding 183 million COP.

The modus operandi of this criminal structure was to steal motorcycles by means of theft, and then extorting the owners. In those cases where the illegal economic demands were not paid, they proceeded to alter the security and identification systems to sell them to third parties in good faith.

Tarazona Rojas was arrested by Police by virtue of a court order in the municipality of Floridablanca.
