The criminal group was engaged in petty sale of marijuana and cocaine base since 2022.
A prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Tolima prosecuted Dairo Rodríguez Zapata, alias Zorro, allegedly responsible for the crimes of aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes and trafficking, manufacture and possession of narcotics.
The evidence provided by the Office of the Attorney General showed that the defendant was the head of Los Zorros, a micro-trafficking organization, since 2022. This network would be in charge of selling marijuana and bazuco in Lérida, Ibagué and Santa Isabel.
Judicial police work established that the drug trafficking organization transported the illicit substances in buses for public service and concealed them in motorcycle tires, after packing them in plastic bags with hermetic seals and paper wrappers. The cost per dose of marijuana was 7,000 and 10,000 COP and in the case of cocaine base, it was from 1,000 pesos on.
Rodríguez Zapata was arrested by the National Police in Chicoral, in Ibagué. This result is added to that one of last August, in which another three members of Los Zorros were brought to justice.
None of the people under investigation pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General. Prison sentences were issued for all the defendants.
