Raúl Alberto Moreno Trujillo, who was wanted to serve a 4-year prison sentence for bribery (giving or offering), was arrested by the Colombian Migration authorities at the Rumichaca Migration Control Post. The officers immediately placed him at the disposal of the National Police in Ipiales (Nariño).

The convicted man was found guilty at the end of last August, therefore a judge of the circuit of Florencia (Caquetá) ordered his arrest after issuing the sentence. The defendant was arrested when he intended to leave the country.

A prosecutor appointed to the Unit of Public Administration in Caquetá proved that on February 5, 2014, Moreno Trujillo, who worked as a CTI investigator, appeared before the municipal police command to request the issuance of acts supporting a search warrant proceeding in a place in which there were allegedly four cans with weapons and money of Farc.

The Prosecutor’s Office proved that his purpose was to report the seizure of just one of the cans and take the others. These assets were going to be illegally seized by those who participated in the operation.

In addition to the sentence, Moreno Trujillo was disbarred from the practice of law and public functions for 80 months and will have to pay a fine of 66,66 Colombian legal minimum wages. He must serve a prison sentence.
