The suspects allegedly committed crimes on behalf of the so-called Darío Gutiérrez front of ‘Jorge Suárez Briceño’ Farc block.
At the request of a specialized prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Huila, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Geferson Amaya Vargas and Justino Losada Cutiva, alias Tigre; for his alleged responsibility in the crime of aggravated extortion against a driver in the area of Ferri Tatacoa of Villavieja and Aipe (Huila) which took place between August 2023 and 2024.
According to the investigation, the victim was contacted by phone by the head of finances of the organized armed group Darío Gutiérrez block ‘Jorge Suárez Briceño’ of Farc who allegedly asked for the payment of fees of up to 12,000,000 COP to let him work in the sector and not consider him a military target.
Judicial police work showed that on August 17, 2024, the businessman was contacted again by this criminal group to continue with the economic demands.
The defendants were arrested in flagrante delicto by Gaula of Army and the National Police, while they were waiting for the payment demanded in Villavieja (Huila). In addition, a motorcycle was seized from them that was apparently used to move to receive the money.
Only alias ‘Tigre’ pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office.
