Four members of the same family, arrested in 2022, were found responsible for conspiracy to commit crimes and qualified and aggravated robbery

The evidence presented by a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Tolima allowed a judge to sentence four members of the same family, responsible for at least ten robberies in Ibagué. The victims were different citizens and commercial establishments between June 2021 and October 2022. Their arrests were carried out by the National Police.

The investigation showed that the convicted people created an organized criminal group with the aim of committing robberies of all kinds, fulfilling specific roles to achieve their goal.

Investigations revealed that ‘Los Magos’ participated directly in ten criminal acts, mostly in the form of ‘pickpocketing’ affecting passers-by and clothing stores and general articles. The losses amounted to more than 13,500,000 COP.

Those convicted are Dayana Karolay López Jaramillo, coordinator of the criminal activities; Diana Marcela Valencia Gutiérrez, María Alejandra Sánchez Valencia and Jaider Stiven Valencia Gutiérrez. All were sentenced to 6 years in prison.
