The Attorney General’s Office brought 8 alleged members of the criminal group La Nueva Generación Ares 2.0. before the justice. The defendants were charged with aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes and trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics.

In a work led by a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Valle del Cauca who had the support of the Sijín of the National Police, it was possible to establish the existence of this structure which was involved in the commercialization of narcotics in Las Escaleras and Gramalote sectors in Bolívar neighborhood, municipality of Ansermanuevo (Valle del Cauca) since May of this year.

The judicial police work allowed the Office of the Attorney General to associate the defendants with at least 17 criminal acts. Therefore, on August 27 the arrest warrants against José Jiménez Ocampo, alias Ñato; Rosa Dayana Jaramillo Vélez, alias La Negra; Claudia Milena Vélez, alias La Bruja; Luis Aníbal Piedrahita, alias Piedrahita; Víctor Alfonso Sánchez, alias Bolo; Miguel Ángel Ruiz Osorio, alias Miguel; Cristian David Orozco Ospina, alias el Barbado and Verónica Alejandra Castrillón Estrada were conducted.

After approving the request made by the Prosecutor’s Office, the judge decided that only the latter must serve a house arrest, while the other defendants will serve the sentence in prison. None pleaded guilty to the charges.
