‘Amazonas’ was part of the illegal armed group that commits crimes in La Montañita, Paujil, Albania, Florencia and San José del Fragua (Caquetá).

A prosecutor appointed to the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigación UEI) obtained a sentence of 14 years and 8 months in prison against Dumar Pisarro Cruz, alias Amazonas, who participated in the murder of community leader Marco Antonio Morales López.

For these facts, ‘Amazonas’ was found guilty of homicide; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes.

According to the investigation, on March 9, 2022, armed men arrived at a farm in the rural area known as Tailandia de la Montañita (Caquetá) where they took advantage of the lack of electricity to enter the property and intimidate the occupants, including Morales López.

The evidence showed that the victim was in a defenseless condition and was shot repeatedly until he died. In the attack, another of the occupants of the farm was shot in a leg.

The investigation showed that ‘Amazonas’ carried out previous surveillance work in the area so that, other members of the FARC dissidents, Comandos Bolivarianos de Frontera, could locate and kill the victim.

A judge appointed to the special circuit of Florencia imposed, besides a prison sentence on Dumar Pisarro Cruz, a fine of 1,350 current monthly minimum wages.
