At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, judges sent two men who would be involved in murders that occurred, in different incidents, in Sincelejo and Santiago de Tolú (Sucre).
- In a first case, Wilmer de Jesús Carmona García, alias Pechi, was brought to justice. On March 21 he allegedly shot a man who was parked on his motorcycle on a public road in the La Lucha neighborhood in Sincelejo. His arrest was carried out by the National Police on July 24 in that city by virtue of a court order
- In another case, Luis Fernando Licona Martelo was prosecuted for facts that took place on July 3, 2023, in a nightclub in Santiago de Tolú. This person allegedly arrived at the scene to shoot the man in charge of serving the customers. The victim received help but died when he was being transferred to a hospital. His arrest was carried out by the National Police on July 30 in that town.
A prosecutor belonging to the Sectional Office in Sucre charged both defendants with aggravated homicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
They were sent to La Vega prison in Sucre.
