At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Omar Alexis Filoteo Díaz, alias Filoteo, for his alleged responsibility in extortion against inhabitants of the so-called Comuna 7 in Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca).

According to the investigation, members of the criminal group Los Espartanos, visited several sectors in Juan XXIII neighborhood, Comuna 7, demanding inhabitants to pay fees to supposedly guarantee their security.

According to several complaints from merchants, one of the men who apparently demanded the payments was identified as Omar Alexis Filoteo. The amounts oscillated between 500 thousand and 2 million COP.

Alias ​​Filoteo was arrested Gaula- National Police by virtue of a court order when he was moving through Porvenir neighborhood.

A prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Valle del Cauca charged him with aggravated extortion. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
