The joint work of the Sectional Office in Casanare, the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and Gaula led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of Anderson Stívenson Vanegas Hernández. The defendant was arrested while he was receiving 15 million COP, allegedly, derived from an extortion in which the victim was the manager of a farm in the municipality of Maní.

Information in the Office of the Attorney General’s hands showed that in April, two men arrived at the farm to demand a large sum of money from the victim in exchange for not attacking him, his family or his property.

Vanegas Hernández, who pretended to be a member of the so-called Clan del Golfo, was arrested in a central area in Villavicencio (Meta).

The Office of the Attorney General charged him with attempted aggravated extortion and aggravated extortion. He did not plead guilty to the charges.

The judge imposed a prison sentence on the arrested man.
