A member of the FARC dissidents was prosecuted for alleged participation in a homicide

The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Yilmer Alexis Rodríguez Valencia, alias Yilmer, for his alleged participation in the murder of a man in El Bordo (Cauca). The facts took place on April 3 in Galán neighborhood.
According to the investigation, ‘Yilmer’ would be part of the Carlos Patiño Farc dissidents, and in the company of another person they would have attacked a man with firearms who died. A woman was injured during the attack.
Officers from the Technical Investigation Corps, with the support of Police and the National Army, arrested Rodríguez Valencia when he was moving through Aruba and Curacao neighborhoods. A firearm, ammunition and marijuana cigarettes were found in the defendants’ possession.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendant with homicide, attempted homicide; and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
A judge imposed a prison sentence against the defendant.
