A judge sentenced Julián Andrés Isaza Soto to 17 years and 10 months in prison for aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms.

The decision was based on facts that occurred on October 1, 2022 in El Guayabo sector in Mermita, Aguadas (Caldas).

The evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office showed that the convicted man arrived at a farm with a firearm looking for an alleged sum of money. On the day of the events, Isaza Soto knocked on the door and asked the victim to come out to talk to him.

Once he went out, the defendant shot him and entered the house with the intention of taking the money.

In May 2023 Isaza Soto pleaded guilty to the charges. A judge imposed him a prison sentence.
