The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Maira Valentina Atencio Mavarez, alias La Chiqui, 27 years old, allegedly involved in the murder of another woman on July 14, 2024 in the municipality of Mahates (Bolívar).
On the day of the facts, the defendant apparently arrived at a public establishment in the so-called Santander neighborhood and without saying a word she attacked a 21-year-old girl with a sharp weapon, then she fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where she died due to the severity of her injuries. Due to these events, the National Police arrested the woman in the main square in the rural area of Malagana, in Mahates.
A prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Bolívar charged the woman with aggravated homicide, however, she did not plead guilty.
Atencio Mavarez’s confinement will take place at the Women’s District Prison in Cartagena.
