At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge sent Luis Stevenson Durán Castillo, alias Cary Cary to prison for his alleged responsibility in three selective homicides that occurred in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).The joint work between a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida, CTI investigators and the National Police, allowed the identification of Durán Castillo, as one of the alleged hitmen of the criminal group known as Los del Martín or del Cerro, with criminal interference in this area of the country.
Investigations show that alias Cary Cary, allegedly participated in the homicide of three men that occurred between August 2023 and March 2024 in the Cerro Norte neighborhood. This person was arrested on June 5 by CTI and National Police.
Due to this, alias Cary Cary was charged with homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
As part of the actions carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office against this criminal group, last May it was achieved the issuance of a prison sentence for José Martín Leal, alias Martín o el Viejo, alleged ringleader.
