The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted two men who, in independent acts, transported cocaine and marijuana. One of the defendants was traveling in a taxi; the other one, in a private vehicle. Both cases took place in the municipalities of Roldanillo and Obando (Valle del Cauca).
Cristian Andrés Giraldo Zapata was arrested in flagrante delicto on May 15 in the El Portal neighborhood in Roldanillo (Valle del Cauca) when he was allegedly found in possession of 276 doses of cocaine and its derivatives. National Police found a package under the passenger seat, which is believed to have been abandoned by the defendant when he tried to flee.
The Prosecutor’s Office prosecuted Alveiro Quintumbo Casamachin, who was carrying 4,590 grams of marijuana in his luggage, distributed in 9 packages in Obando (Valle del Cauca). This person was traveling on a public service bus and was caught in flagrante delicto by National Police.
In both cases, prosecutors from the Sectional Office in Valle del Cauca Section charged the arrested people with trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. Judges issued prison sentences.
