Among the victims there are two foreign citizens who were murdered in late 2023.

After endorsing the evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Juan David Villa Cardona, alias ‘Paisa’ or ‘el Viejo’, as allegedly responsible for participating in the murder of four people in the municipality of Caucasia (Antioquia), between November 2023 and January of this year.

According to the investigation carried out by a specialized prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Antioquia, the defendant belonged to an armed group that shot two foreign citizens on November 20, 2023 in the Kiriki rural area. One of them died at the scene, while the other died four days later in a medical center.

Investigators also determined that Villa Cardona, the alleged ringleader of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ in the area, ordered the murder of two other men, who were shot on January 12 and 21st this year in the aforementioned municipality.

Alias ‘Paisa’ or ‘el Viejo’ was arrested by National Police between the areas of Caucasia and Zaragoza. The man did not plead guilty to the charges brought against him by the Prosecutor’s Office for aggravated homicide, illegal possession of firearms for personal defense, and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. The judge ordered his imprisonment in El Pedregal prison in Antioquia.
