At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Edwin Arbey Mejía Manjarrez, for his alleged responsibility in the murder of an 18-year-old young man.

The crime took place on January 16 of this year in El Boston neighborhood in Barrancabermeja (Santander) where the victim was attacked with a firearm.

Mejía Manjarrez, who would be part of alias Marihuano´s criminal gang that was involved in the sale of narcotics, was arrested by virtue of a court order after being investigated by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and National Police.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms. He did not plead guilty to the charges.
