A joint work between the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police allowed the arrest and subsequent prosecution of two men who were found transporting illegal substances.
One of the defendants was Jorge Danuil Arias Rodríguez, who was found by the authorities when he was traveling on a motorcycle in Camilo Daza neighborhood in Norte de Santander. The authorities found 9 kilos of coca base, that were allegedly ready to be sold at small-scale.
Meanwhile, at a checkpoint located in El Zulia (Norte de Santander) Edison Rafael Rojas Silva was arrested. The arrest took place when the individual was driving a vehicle containing 17 packages of 15 kilos and 793 grams of cocaine hydrochloride.

Apparently, the substance was transported from Catatumbo region and was destined for Cúcuta, where it was stored; and then sent to Central America and Europe.
The Office of the Attorney General charged the defendants with trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. They did not plead guilty to the charges. A judge imposed a prison sentence.
