The defendant is investigated since he is allegedly responsible for the kidnapping of two citizens in Arauca.
The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted Pedro Arturo Rodríguez, alias Mocho or Pate Palo, an alleged member of the Martín Villa Front of the FARC dissidents. This person would be involved in the kidnapping of two citizens in Arauca on June 21, 2021.
According to the investigation, the crime was committed on a farm in El Rosario neighborhood in Arauca. There, several men who identified themselves as members of this illegal group, intimidated a man and his son with firearms, and took them to Amparo state in Venezuela and were held prisoners for 12 days.
Judicial police work established that ‘Mocho’ or ‘Pate Palo’ were allegedly in charge of transferring the kidnapped people to the foreign territory.
The defendant was arrested on April 18 by Gaula-National Police in Monterrey (Casanare).
The Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendant with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and kidnapping for ransom. A judge imposed a prison sentence.
