Two other people were arrested in operations carried out by the Army and the National Police.

Investigations that were carried out by the Attorney General’s Office in Magdalena allowed a judge to send three members of ‘Los Pachencas’ to prison. Among those people that were arrested, there is someone who would be one of the leaders of the criminal organization. This is César Becerra Gómez, alias Camilo. Along with him, Mateo Heriberto Herrera Osorio and Leonis Gabriel Gómez were also arrested by the Police and the National Army, who are allegedly part of ‘Los Pachenca’ since 2021 in which they played the role of bodyguards.

In a procedure, carried out on April 17 in a rural area of Mina (Magdalena), four firearms, eight suppliers and ammunition were seized.

According to the investigation, ‘Camilo’ was in charge of planning meetings with inhabitants of neighboring towns to the Caribbean trunk, which connects Magdalena with the departments of Guajira and Cesar, to intimidate and extort them.

Judicial police work determined that Becerra Gómez would be coordinating extortions against businesses and residents in Minca (Magdalena).

These three people were charged, according to their level of responsibility, with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated extortion; manufacturing, trafficking or possession of weapons, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the armed forces or explosives, illegal use of uniforms and insignia; and use of a false document.
