The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office allowed a judge of mixed jurisdiction in Puerto Rico (Caquetá) to sentence a person to 20 years in prison for the crimes of attempted femicide and violent sexual assault.

The facts took place on May 26, 2023, when the man attacked his former partner with a knife, in front of her minor daughter in a parking lot located on the road that leads to San Vicente del Caguán airport in Caquetá.

Through the ceiling, this person entered the room where the victim was and attacked her with a sharp weapon in the chest and stomach.

According to the investigation, from the end of 2019 to September 2022, he allegedly abused her physically, verbally, sexually, and psychologically.

A judge issued an arrest warrant against the convicted person.
